The True Guru goes 7-0 in week 5 with several critical match ups
What a fantastic week for The True Guru. I was able to pull off wins in all seven leagues for the first time since week one. My total record for all seven leagues through week five is 25-10.
I had several critic match ups this week, and I showed up big in all the games. I predicted I'd go 5-2 this week, but great performances gave me all seven wins.
Blog Talk Radio League
In week 5 I faced the only undefeated team in the league Second To None. Ted's team has looked great all season and he is my rival in the league. I managed to beat him 114-107 and I still have Dan Carpenter left. I had some critical decisions to make and Drew Brees on the BYE. I went with Austin Miles, who I drafted, and it paid off big with 42 points.
Drunken Pirate Slapfight Expert League
This week, I face fellow writer/host Ryan Hallam and I needed to keep my undefeated record going in the league. I moved on to 5-0 and I stand alone as the only undefeated team by crushing the Fantasy Football Tonight team 151-105.
Vegas Vs. Texas League
This is the oldest league I'm part of, but I took on the newest member in a clash of the titans AJ Pelletier (expert and co host) Vs. The True Guru. The end result was not pretty, 218-147. A big win and some good clearance in the division.
J.A.I.L. League
I'm been terrible in this league facing tough injuries and BYE weeks. Finally I got all my players back including Boldin and Hasslebeck and I devastated Death Row Doggies 105-55. A loss and dropping to 1-4 would have nearly ended my playoff hopes, but at 2-3 and on the mend I'm looking good.
Fantasy Football Search Expert League
Another league I was struggling in with two straight losses (2-2). I faced a good friend in Larry Joseph from Bruno Boys who is in my division and has a 3-1 record. The final score was 135-97 thanks to great play by Tony Romo and Andre Johnson. My record is now 3-2 and with Pro Fantasy Games losing (4-1), I'm one game out of the division lead.
