Off Week Decisions
Hey everyone. I just wanted to drop a note here and give you a few reminders about how to fix an off week situation in the week.
First and foremost identify the problem a week or two early. Then either trade a week or two earlier to the problem and trade a few of the problems away, but remember only trade the players that you can live without. Then if you find someone to take these players then you have passed on your headache. while you are looking ahead look at other rosters and see who might have a off week problem on a different weekend, then off them the trade, reminding them of the problem they have coming up and you can help them. that will encourage them to make the move.
if trading doesn't work then work the waiver wire to your advantage. i am in a league where recently a few managers who make a million moves every week make them on the waiver wire so they get first shot at players. DON'T. not unless you really need them. WHY??? Because you will fall down in priority and then if a real hot one comes you will never get them. Let me tell you a story. in this league THE TRUE GURU and I have saved our waiver wire picks. he was picking 1 and i was picking 3. this week we both saw players our roster needed for our rosters and jumped on it. now because the GURU's roster is stacked and he was picking one when he got Mendenhall a few guys got mad because how did he get the #1 waiver wire pick. Because you had the #1 priority coming out of the draft because he had the last pick and because he didn't waste it in the previous 4 weeks. he picked up players off FREE AGENCY. even for experienced fantasy players they don't understand the difference between waivers and free agency. You must learn your waiver claim policy and use it properly, and in most cases that is not to use it till the moment is right.
Using some of these tips and planning ahead will help you every year keep your roster from off week problems and winning those weeks. you can get more information of off weeks at my playbook at http://www.fantasyfootballsearch.com/playbook.asp.
