Thank You Fran

Finally someone has said what we have all wanted to say in regards to Brett Favre. This week Fran Tarkenton pretty much didnt hold back his feelings when he was asked about the Favre and Viking Saga. "I think it's despicable. What he put the Packers through last year was not good. Here's an organization that was loyal to him for 17, 18 years, provided stability of organization, provided players. It just wasn't about Brett Favre. In this day and time, we have glorified the Brett Favre's of the world so much, they think it's about them. He goes to New York and bombs. He's 39 years old. How would you like Ray Nitschke in his last year (playing for) the Vikings, or I retire, and go play for the Packers. I kind of hope it happens, so he can fail." Following the media blitz of that outburst he followed it up with the following statement. "I can't put my arms around this as a Vikings fan," he said. "I was born a Viking, I retired a Viking and I will die a Viking. ... And in the spirit of sport -- I don't like to use the word hate -- but [the Packers] are the enemy are they not? And I want to embrace the icon Brett Favre to come over here and play for my team? He's a Packer and should be a Packer. That's his legacy. Now if he were to go out and play for the Chargers, I don't have any problem with that."

I Aj Pelletier of the Nfl Fantasy Playbook and Fantasy Football Search personally think he said it the way it should have been said at the beginning of this soap opera. Would the Cowboys have settled for Troy Aikman playing for the Redskins the year after his retirement. How would the Colts feel if Manning retired only to play for the Tennesse Titans. How about Marcus Allen moving to the Chiefs. Oh right, that happened and for every Raider fan felt like a knife had been stab in our back and right through our hearts. If Favre had any class at all he would not make this move and he would release the Vikings from this terrible hostage situation that the Packers have had to live through for too many years.

Thank you Fran, you have made this Viking fans day and i pray that his arm isn't healthy enough to come back into this league where he wont stop tarnishing what was a great career.

Cheers

QB situations to stay away from

I have many reasons to believe that there will be people drafting the following players and if you are one of them that draft these players highly i insist you save me a spot in your league as i would love to have you as an opponent.

Mark Sanchez: This is a player who somehow got better the last month of the draft without even putting on a helmet. how and why??? Media. Yes, i suppose i am part of the media, but i am talking about the media with a face and a voice. Somehow the Jets felt this guy was going to be a face of the franchise. Why i think he wont be successful this year or even maybe in the future. simple. USC is such a dominate team in the conference they rarely face anyone with a defense of which can stop a good offense, not to say a NFL generated offense. So here is a fact. the only team with a decent defense turned out to be the only team to beat them. The Oregon State Ducks not only had a good defense on the field, but this was proven with 5 players drafted from that team. Sanchez has already struggled with the speed at the OTA's and will not win the starting role.

Matt Cassel: For some reason everyone thinks that the 11 wins the Patriots had last year was the work of Cassel; true he was the quarterback but please, with Bilicheck as the coach anyone of any talent including you and me might have got a half dozen wins with those weapons around him. I will tell you right now, Dwayne Bowe is not Randy Moss and Bobby Engram is not Wes Welker and most importantly Todd Haley is not Bill Bilicheck. Don't forget that the o-line in KC is a little different the the Patroit line that has won 29 of their last 35 games. Then take into account they moved Tony Gonzalez only to bring in a drafted rookie. Cassel will not finish the year and i am not sure why the Chiefs didn't stick it out with Tyler Thigpen who was fun to watch.

There are others to talk about but i will save that for a different day.

Cheers
